Dionysus Virus First time I heard this album was on the Bogus Collective discography. I didn’t like climatewave/broken transmission. It was still quite new to me but I recently remembered when I was a kid and sometimes I would hear music in commercials, weather forecasts, and interstitial music on movie channels and public access television that captured me and my imagination. I actually enjoyed this style of music before it became a genre unto itself. There’s tracks on this album that I really like. Favorite track: Panama City, FL.

Released originally in 2019, I Hope You Get Wet With The Rain is one of the most ambitious projects created by default.cfg, a Brazilian artist known for his work in curating and presenting many different types of vapor from his country's artists through the VWTBR collective, as well as creating his own works to share to listeners across the world.

The style is reminiscent both of more classic climatewave albums in both its sampling and effects work (those who have listened to WMCC Weather Channel and 1-900-WEATHER will feel very at home with this piece), though it distinguishes itself by going the extra mile and incorporating more interesting cuts in how it is sequenced. Certain tracks, such as the opener, feel almost akin to the constructions of early eccojams-themed songs.

Other sections, such as Fog In The Whole Central Region Of The Country, sound much closer to what one would expect from a more traditional, classic-styled climatewave album. Small interludes such a Maintenance remind the listener of the construction of a signalwave album, though these are used sparingly to simply create atmosphere, a choice in the design that is performed very well when it does appear.

Through all of these interesting experiments, default.cfg has managed to create a cohesive, sprawling piece that is sure to please any fan of weather-themed vaporwave. In addition, this album was entirely remastered for 2020 in the re-release of the digital album, which was also used for the dubbing of this tape.
