Having been iconic since the formative years of the vaporwave scene, Luxury Elite has created many albums that influenced the landscape of how people produced within the genre. From powerhouses that have spread outwards among widespread listeners such as World Class and her contributions to Late Night Delight, to albums that are cherished as being some of the the most hard-hitting pieces of their respective eras within her catalogue, such as the myriad of splits, albums, and EPs that have seen rapid reissuing throughout the previous years.

Along with these albums, tucked neatly within the middle like an errant record upon a shelf is 101.7 Wave II. Originally presented on the illustrious Kandahar Homedubs label alongside other memorable moments of experimentalism within music, this album contains many tracks that listeners may have missed out on due to its short issuing during initial releases.

Many of these tracks follow a structure that fans of the artist will find familiar, with a heavy focus on both curation and finding ways to make the pieces within click together, simplicity bringing along complexity. As much as Luxury Elite's skills have advanced since the years past this album's release, there are still strong and commendable efforts being made throughout the album's runtime, loops strung together and spliced with such care that the needlework may as well be invisible.

The scope of moods and sources is impeccably large and yet concise with her taste in sampling, taking inspiration from everywhere that could possibly fit into the runtime feasibly and with an effortless click into each track slot, calm moods leading into a driving force, which then lead towards a loop that drags the mood back down. As this is done all through repurposed pieces and thoughts, the selection had to be made especially finely in order to make these rigid moods meld together when strung.

All along from start to end, this album is one of the finest that can be found from the earlier catalogue of Luxury Elite, and one that we are grateful to have been given the opportunity for releasing once again on a broader scale. Alongside its release once again, we have worked with the artist to provide the three bonus tracks for this album's cassette release digitally for the first public time, for fans who may not have been able to acquire them originally.

While we usually say that we hope you enjoy our current release, the influence and genre-paving power that has been provided by each album this artist has produced speaks for itself, almost waiving our necessity to urge you to do so.

We still hope that you do.

Traditional in a "telepath" sense, but Beyond Reality is also one of a few records from his catalogue that sticks out to me a lot due to it's single "night-and-day" change. Softer, lusher, more warmth, and gentler to the touch than a lot of his early mall muzak material. All in all, it's a great album that was perfectly crafted to be played on nights that are meant to unwind to. Quota
