For over a decade before his debut onto the vaporwave scene, Nmesh had been producing music in many different genres. From breakbeat, to gabber, to ambient, to IDM, to just about anything he could think of, many different bases were covered by his music. A collection of these tracks, mainly in the realms of his more hardcore stylings, ended up becoming compiled and released later down the line as two volumes.

Hard Classiks, Vol 1 is the first of these, naturally. Each track is consistently hard-hitting, taking on different levels of noise to compliment a collection of heavily breakcore and gabber influenced sounds. Nmesh's love of synth stings, screeching feedback, and hard-hitting drums ends up leaning into his love of the soundscape of horror. Tracks can feel oppressive at times, then disconcerting the next.

For what was presented originally as a collection of tracks from seven years of production (2002-2009), there is a solid amount of cohesion to the environment that each one is looking to evoke. A must-have for those interested in Nmesh's earlier works and lovers of gabber/breakcore/horror/general hardcore.
