A standout of vapor releases during its time, A Focus On Satisfaction took the ideas that came with previous experimentations within mallsoft and took them in an entirely new direction. While many others only took their editing prowess as far as making a room feel empty, Customer Service went above and beyond. The idea was to add another layer of dilapidation, taking full advantage sampling techniques to make something feel far away and long gone.

While the first few tracks may lull a listener into something still familiar, the crawl downwards from there drags them into near-ambient territory, the sounds of the track really fogged by it's own fizzling connection to reality. Rather than the exploration of a singular, isolated point in reality as similar works tend to, A Focus On Satisfaction expands this scope, repurposing its corporate atmosphere into a world where it ceases to have any sort of function. Fully becoming background music.

The tracks continue to trail off all the way to the end, only finally slowing to a crawl and ceasing to exist in the final few moments. Leaving the emptiness behind and creating a larger one with silence in its wake.
