thomura They're all the same, those prime thrift stores: almost an amalgamation of several buildings, a labyrinth of rooms and halls and displays and showrooms, few windows -- if any -- in sight. yet at the end of the day it's a cozy feeling, and you feel safe, perched at a rack methodically sifting through the decades-old selection. this entire album is the essential oil of that human experience. delightful. Favorite track: relic.

CT57 This album and alias is awesome, it’s one of TV2’s best. It has a very comfy aesthetic and relaxes me immediately. One of the most creative and unique ideas to come out of this signalwave producer to date along with their Morning Appointment album which I also recommend heavily. I’ll be playing this on my visits to the thrift shop from now on. I’m really happy I was able to get the last cassette. 9/10 Favorite track: sentimental.

A collection of memories from long ago, left to sit in the recesses of your mind while you continue through daily life. On one such commute through it, you turn, noticing the dusty, scratched window of a local thrift outlet, still the same as you remembered. An impulsive swing of the door on this detour of yours displays the inside, in as active of disrepair as the exterior.

25% Off, Half Off, 80% off. Everything must go. Everything has had to go for years, collecting dust waiting for a new owner. The few patrons scattered in the store nearly refuse to make eye contact with most of the merchandise, there for decoration only. You watch each of them leave without making a single purchase, brushing past the racks of clothing and scattering a faint trail of collected debris into the air.

It's not as if you won't do the same. The last time you were here was a long time ago, the only purpose of this visit being to revisit that memory, to recapture something nearly forgotten. Even the music is the same, and just a single note is enough to make you feel as old as the wares themselves...
