One part video game samples and one part lo-fi instrumentals, the Hoverbeatz duology of albums has been criminally overlooked despite its ability to draw out the best of both of these worlds in its sound. Each of the albums have their own unique qualities to give them character as well, allowing both sides to sound cohesive as a series while failing to become stale in the process.

The first and original piece, Hoverbeatz, contains more of a track by track format to its presentation, each of the songs within it standing high on their own with more of a focus on extracting the highest value from each one, rather than immersion.

In turn, the tracks on Hoverbeatz II contain a lot more atmosphere to them, sacrificing just the tiniest bit of punch that the individual tracks from the first had in order to tie the album together more as a whole. Despite this, each one still carries some punch, with peaks that tickle at the spine from beautifully textured sample work.

As a whole, these two albums together manage to cover what little weak points the other have, presenting one of the most compelling chip-hop albums that one could find.
